October 30th, 2019 President’s Letter

Academy President Letter
October 30th, 2019

From the Desk of Kim Skibsted DC, FIANM(us)
International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine

Just a quick note to bring you up to date on a few issues the Academy is working on, and some news.

The new Academy certificates are in the “artwork and design” stage at the moment. We expect that we should get the proofs in about two weeks. We will notify you when these are available and the exact cost.

We have the Part II examination details finalized for this November. Part I will be opening up for registration on December 1, 2019, for the 2020 examination cycle.

Several ongoing classes and additional classes are either underway or getting ready to start. Two venues will be holding classes for the second time. You can check the University of Bridgeport’s (UBCC) Post Graduate calendar for upcoming classes. These classes will also qualify or recertification or Maintenance of Credentials (MOC).

Speaking of the University of Bridgeport-School of Chiropractic, their 3-year, full-time Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine residency takes place in Federally Qualified Health Centers. These centers are usually primary care facilities within community health centers. To complete the resident training program, the doctor must complete the Diplomate process and become board certified chiropractic neuromusculoskeletal medicine specialists. You may learn more about the residency program by contacting Dr. James J. Lehman, the program director. He may be contacted by email at [email protected]

We apologize for a few of the website SNAFU’s, but we are making changes in several areas to keep up with the rapid growth of the specialty.

Currently, we have three international representative members on board. These doctors are from Brazil, Canada, and The Emirates, and we are awaiting other appointments.

The Academy has been involved in a whirlwind of activities over the last couple of months, and we will have more to report soon!
