Academy President Letter
March 31st, 2020

From the Desk of Kim Skibsted DC, FIANM(us)
International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine

Greetings Fellows,

I pray you are well during these anxious times. The IANM is hopeful as you that this will soon pass, and we can get back to our regular business.

I have attached information about the value of certification and recertification. This is from IANM’s credentialing body. As I have said, we will be providing more and more information about the new recertification process that will begin in 2021. We do have certain things that we must do and provide to certificate holders. The information is at the end of this letter.

The new reaching-out of our membership platform has been working very well. We are also finding out links we thought were only our problem, actually included e-mail addresses that had been changed, and we were not notified. We did have issues, and they are being resolved. We have been sending out “snail mail” letters to those we could not reach. So many positive comments from our membership, thank you!

The IANM is so grateful for all that have volunteered to help with our Board needs. All of the areas are now filled. We still want to hear from you if you wish to help as new things seem to be popping up! We have many new things brewing, and the added help will get this to fruition sooner rather than later. The Examination Board is updating the Part I item pool. They are preparing the “early work” for the 2020-2025 Job Analysis. This is a process and guideline that we have to follow outlined by our credentialing Board, ICE.

We now have a “student membership” available for undergraduate chiropractic students. The IANM will accept senior students into the program to obtain a Diplomate with the Academy. There is a caveat in that they have to be in clinical practice for two years after graduation to be able to sit the Board. Several school clinic directors have contacted us about student memberships. We provided it.

We have notified Diplomate candidates that are scheduled to sit Part I that we are flexible for dates, and those published dates are no longer “firm,” but we are moving according to the restrictions that may be caused by CV19.

The American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists has rescheduled its symposium in Las Vegas until September 2020. The same hotel as scheduled in April.

For those of you still interested in getting a new DIANM certificate, please act before 05/01/2020 as the cost will go from $22 to $30. If you have received yours, aren’t they beautiful?  We have a company that will frame your certificates. Have a look at the Framing Success website. I know some of the Board used them, and they do a great job.

I hope you all remain well and safe. Thank you for your membership; we continue to work to make a positive difference for you!
